Saudi Arabia, Qatar urge Taliban to reverse ban on ladies’ schooling in Afghanistan


Saudi Arabia and Qatar urged the Taliban on Wednesday to reverse its ban on ladies receiving a college schooling in Afghanistan. 

In a Wednesday assertion, the Saudi International Ministry stated it expresses “shock” and “remorse” on the Taliban-led authorities’s resolution. 

“The Ministry of International Affairs expresses the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s astonishment and remorse on the resolution of the Afghan caretaker authorities to disclaim Afghan ladies the proper to school schooling, and calls on it to reverse this resolution,” the ministry stated. 

It added that the Taliban’s transfer was “astonishing in all Islamic nations and is opposite to giving Afghan ladies their full reputable rights, foremost of which is the proper to schooling, which contributes to supporting safety, stability, growth and prosperity in Afghanistan.”
